Trip to Kovalam – All the planning
This was our third anniversary and we wanted to have a nice vacation for that. We went through many options…..lots of criteria were in picture……we must be able to take off from office, we must get tickets for the travel, we must get good accommodation, it must be a nice enjoyable place and also it must fit into the purse in our pocket….
With all this is mind we finally decided on a trip to Kovalam….a beach side town in Kerala.
We decided to travel by train rather than bus due to the comfort factor. The ticket non-availability clause came into picture…also getting off from office was a little bit of a problem….so we decided to go for the vacation 2 days after the actual anniversary:).
After all, the idea was to have a nice vacation….how would a delay of 2 days matter.
We booked tickets to Trivandrum in the Island Express for the ‘To’ journey and in the Kochuveli express for coming back….we are so used to traveling to Chennai by train that these trains seemed to take too long to reach our destination…anyway…that’s how it was.
We booked accommodation at country club as we had a free (actually discounted) stay due for this year (This is a separate story of how we got this….I shall make sure to write a separate detailed blog on it)
We started looking for places to visit and all other stuff about Kovalam on the internet…..which by the way is such a boon….we found all the info that we wanted.
This time we also decided that we wont mind a little extra luggage as we wont be moving around the luggage throughout the trip. So we carried quite a lot of stuff…..2 cameras just to give an example:)…
Prashanth’s camera is a huge one and its more for pros….. I also wanted to try my photography skills and so took Sangu’s camera with me. She told me took make use of all the options and settings in her camera and tell her how to use it effectively. I promised to do that and so we ended up carrying 2 cameras.
We packed everything one day before and were all set to leave…..there is was a sense of tingling excitement to be getting away on a long vacation…
