Marugelara

I have been listening to marugelara sung by M L vasanthakumari. Nice base voice. It suits my voice also. have been attempting to learn it. It would have been better if there was some chittaswram. Anyway, I like it.
It is in the raagam jayanthishri.
Aa: S G2 M1 D1 N2 SAv: S N2 D1 M1 P M1 G2 S
This is a Janya raagam. It is born out of the nata bhairavi raagam which is the 20th melakartha raagam.
G – saadharana gaandharam
M – shudha mdhyamam
D – Kakali Nishadham
The aarohanam has no ‘ P’. But avarohanam has ‘P’.
The song is composed by Thyagaraja againJ.

Song goes as below:
pallavi
marugElarA O rAghavA
anupallavi
marugEla carAcara ruPa parAtpara sUrya sudhAkra lOcana
caraNam
anni nIvanucu natarangamuna dinnagA vEDaki telisi koNTinayya ninnE gani madi nennajAla norula nannu brOvavayya tyAgarAjanuta
The song means:
Meaning:O Raghava (Lord Rama)! Why do you need to conceal yourself? The Universe itself is your form, with the sun and the moon as your eyes. By deep contemplation, inquiry, and search, I have directly perceived that you are everything, and everything is within you. There is no place in my mind for any other God. I solicit your protection.

It is again a devotional song. Very nice song. The best thing is that it suits my voiceJ
