Paluke Bangaramayana

This is one more peppy song. I am a fan of this song. However, I feel it sounds extremely good with the pakkavadhyam (instruments). I heard the song by Balamuralikrishna. It was awesome. The starting and stopping of sangathis (paragraphs) is just too good. I also try to sing it the same way . I want to sing it once with the mridangam.

The song was composed by Badraachala Ramadas in raagam Aananda bhairavi and aadi taalam. The song is in the Telgu language.

Aanada bhairavi is again a Janya raaga of the natabhairavi raagam which is of 20th melakartha. The aarohanam and avarohanam are as follows

Av: S N2 D2 P M1 G2 R2 S

The film song mettu poodu (movie: duet) is also in this raagam. I love that song too.
There is a geetham “kamala suloochana” which is also in this raagam.

Some swara sancharams (patterns that can be sung in this raagam) are GMP, P,,NPM MP,MGRG_R, GMPMGRRGS_, SRN_, SP_M, MGPMGRG_ PDPMPSN_ NSGRS_ PNSR NDP_ MPR_S SNDP MP_NPM GRnnSSGG MP_MGR_ SRPMGRS

If you notice the avarohanam of this raagam, you will see it has D2 instead of D1. the parent raagam however has D1. Hence this raagam has one anya swaram (a borrowed note). This raagam is hence called a Bhashanga raagam.

The rasa is the feeling that a raagam creates. Ananda bhairavi is said to have sringara rasa and karuna rasa. I still don’t have a good knowledge about the different rasa. Got to really read a lot about it.

I am also looking out for the meaning of this song. The song gets its bhavam only from the meaning. I will try my best to find it.
