I was going through my old music note book….found this song that I used to love. But I have forgotten how to sing it.
It is Raghuvara….
Ragam: Pantuvarali or Kamavardhini (its an alias)
composer: Thagaraja
The ragam is mesmerizing. This is one of the non peppy carnatic songs that really took my heart away.
I found the song on musicindiaonline.com and have vowed to refresh my memory again…

My sister and mom heard the katha kalashyam by Smt Vishaka Hari at the Sai baba temple and got one of her CDs after being immensely impressed. I was not very interested.
But then I watched the CD anyway. The CD was of Sundara kaandam. This part of ramayana talks of Hanuman’s greatness and his association with lord Rama.
I loved it. She has so much enthusiasm. Her recital was very good and understandable. She also keeps it so lively that one does not loose interest.
