Graha bedam

Again some gyan pertaining to raagam;
I am still not clear if shruthi bedam and graha bedam are the same things….as my source of info is the internet …I am getting variety of opinions. But for now I plan to go by the conviction that they are both the same.
basically here we can change one ragam into another…
and how is that done?
by graha bedam….
you more from one octave to the next and you get the new raagam ….you are singing in one sruthi…you go to the next sruthi level….
and do we do it randomly…No…
