Manasa yetulo – Malayamaarutham

manasa yetulo was one of the thyagraja’s song that I got to sing on stage….
it was not a big deal stage…but it meant a big deal to me as I am not a professional singer, and singing with the pakka vadhyam (instruments) means a lot to me. it was the Thyagaraja aaradhanai organized by my music teacher and I got to sing this song. I love the song.

Meaning:
O unworthy mind! How long can I put up with you, if you do not listen to my counsel? Follow my advice. Spend your time in singing the glory of shri Rama ,the jewel of the human race, with humility and devotion. In this Kaliyuga, instead of wasting time associating with men of sloth and lethargy and those who are engaged in worldly activities all the time, you should adopt the pleasant way of devotion and redeem yourself. You do not appear disposed to heed to the counsel of Tyagaraja.
