this made me get a little patriotic and think about the world and my country.
When I was in 6th standard or so, we gave up crackers….all cousins together decided that crackers were polluting evnironment and so we would not buy them.
Even today my sis and me will avoid plastic covers at shops….some big shops insist on them…but when we go to shops near home, we take our own bag and avoid taking plastic covers.
We also do not throw chocolate wrappers or any other papers on streets….we keep them in our bag and throw them in a dustbin if we find one…if not we get them home and put it in the dustbin at home…
We have made our parents also follow the same….
But I dont think I have the enthu now…Idont do anything new…and when I try to enforce the non usage of plastic covers…no one listens….people laugh at me…
even educated people dont seem to understand…
my sister got me a new thing….recording lessons for blind kids…..i went for the audition…but they wanted kannada…reading kannada (that too when i got to know that the kid was a political science college student) was extremely difficult…i can read…but not smooth enough like a professional. so it did not work out.
I have been donating clothes. but somehow i still feel something is missing.
the whole thought came up when my colleague and I started discussing about how the prices of vegatables were shooting up…we went on discussing how farmers come to city….so demand more…production less…so scarcity….so price hike…
we sit in AC rooms and say i am becoming health concious so i want veges and fruits…but there is this poor farmer who gets hardly any money…so he comes to city to make a living(like me and others)…
we in turn blame that poor guy for price hike…
when there is no water and no crops..do we help any one of them with any alternatives???…no…we blame govt…
very bad…
i am kind of feeling ashamed of myself…
I recently got some plant life into our house compound….i love plants….greenery…we dont have too much place…but atleast some pots…
they say technology can do anything….then is there no way to manufacture something that will not pollute the air?
cant we do something and get all the public transport to use LPG or something….??
China has imposed a rule that every family should have only 1 kid ….a measure to control population explosion….
we cannot deploy rules like that easily…because ours is a democracy…but i think some rules or norms which will be strictly monitored will help a lot…

The part about blackle is false. It does not really save any energy and infact in some instances, might actually cause more power consumption

Oh and google did NOT create blackle. The site uses google’s search engine but was created by a developer unrelated to Google

Great that you are doing your bit, whether it is not using plastic bags or not littering. I appreciate that.
