This year we had a semi grand Krishna Jayanthi. We made all sweets and other eatables…decorations..pooja was done…
Everything in a medium scale….reason…not much time.
This year I was a little more experienced with the pooja so it dint take long to do it. All eatables were made in medium quantity….this is because we decided to make extra later. What was made was mainly for neivedyam and distribution to friends.
Recipe to neivedyam dishes can be found at http://allyouwannaknow.net/youtoocantry/2007/09/02/tips-for-seedai-gokulashtami-krishna-jayanthi/
The colour rangoli outside home was smaller than usual….but a nice one:)

Rangoli
Krishna’s baby feet were drawn from the door step….
We had a nice ivory coloured Krsihna this year,,,and he was decorated with lights and flowers all around him….I loved it:)

Krishna
Since it was a Thursday… I had my traditional baba bhajans right after the Krishna janmashtami pooja. A day to remember….
Some more details about the festival itself and stories of Krishna can be found at http://allyouwannaknow.net/devotional/2009/08/30/few-words-on-lord-krishna/

Actually….I did the decorations and pooja stuff…I did only half of the cooking. Mom in law did the rest half…so most of the credit goes to her:)
