Gurgaon reminds me of Shanghai….not exactly…. I would say…. If Shanghai was a little more dirty…or that’s not the right word…Shabby….ya…then it would look like Gurgaon.
Why I say this….??
All I see is buildings…huge buildings….
When I say Shanghai… I mean specifically the Pudong area which is mostly dedicated to service apartments and company buildings.
There are only buildings and buildings around here in Gurgaon…. They have some namesake greenery….which I would say is not even that green…guess the plants have forgotten how green they are supposed to look.
The roads are dusty….full of cars…hardly any 2 wheelers I would say…
Extreme traffic…
All buildings are huge and in different different shapes….
Not a single shop in view….for a long long distance…
All high fi apartment complexes with all chauffer driven cars…
Extremely costly area..
Someone was saying….even to buy a safety pin one has to pay 20Rs parking and go all the way up into a mall….
The difference from Shanghai is…
Shanghai had very clean and neat roads with well regulated traffic…which obviously lacks….I am talking about India here…so…let me not state the obvious…
Shanghai had very nice cabs….here they are all rattling….
The buses…in gurgaon….they seem as though they were made when the iron age started….poohhh….someone has got to do something abt that..
PLANT SOME TREES……
DLF builders seem to own 60% of the area….So I blame them for the absence of greenery….them and all the other builders.
I pity the people here….they are really out of touch with nature. The buildings are so posh…but they are so far away from nature.
I was describing the place here to my sis…
In the fiction movies…they show this place that will be in the future….all only buildings and nothing else….mostly robotic kind of stuff….thats how this place is.
One of the persons in my guest house asked me… “are’nt you going around this place?”….I really am not interested. The place does not attract me.
I love going to new places….
In Germany I yearned to see more….Now I know why….not because it was “Germany”…but because it was inviting. Everywhere there was greenery…there was beauty.
Shanghai was much less attractive to me as it was just tall buildings….everything was artificially made
Here…it is even worse….at first I had a small list of places to visit…but I am not at all interested now
One cannot walk on the streets because of the dust….absence of proper public transport…
Uffff……
I used to blame Bangalore for lack of greenery…. Now that is heaven to me….waiting to get back…
Just one thing….if people over here wish…they can make this a beautiful place….because they have the space for it and the money for it….they only need the intention for it….
