Religious rituals….all blind beliefs?

It is very easy to say that all the religious rituals are superstitious beliefs and that they make no sense…. What is more difficult is to try and find the meaning in them.

The religious rituals have been followed through for centuries….are we trying to say that we are the only intelligent people and that everyone else have been fools. No one ever thought about why something was done?
I don’t think that is true.

I am not saying that all that is done is right and we must blindly believe it. I am just saying that we must not just take the easy route and say its all stupid…. Instead try to find out what could have been the reason for the origin of such a ritual.

Of course….it so happens that….when these rituals were handed down from generation to generation…people made their own changes to them according to their conveniences and so the resultant that we have today is a real corrupted version of the original.

But we are no better. We are doing the same thing….not trying to find out how things should be done right and why were they done….

If we are told to do something because it brings in good…..we ask it to be proven…..and then we mock the person who is unable to prove it.
My question….”can one anytime prove that not following the rituals is the right thing to do?”….No….there are certain things that cannot be explicitly proven….

Also….many things have been proven much earlier….

Theory of relativity was proven by scientists….i know it is true and right…. I may not be able to derive the mathematical formulae for it…just because I don’t know how to prove it…theory of relativity will not become wrong.

In fact….as I have tried to do some research (not very extensive though)… what I see is that most of the rituals seem to have had a lot of significance and mostly very scientific.

I have decided that I will not simply discard anything just because I don’t know what the real reasons are…..of course….I will not be a blind believer…

When my future generation asks me “WHY”… I want to be able to answer atleast 50% of them…. Unfortunately I don’t have enough people who can answer my questions….
